About Benwells - Our people
We currently employ 18 full time staff and operate in a modern factory unit in Central London. We find this is ideally placed to serve the design and print industries both here and overseas.
The vast majority of our staff are home grown - most having joined us as apprentices and taught to our exacting high standards. Our apprenticeship scheme is key to our growth. A new trainee joins every eighteen months or so and this ensures we can offer staff valuable progression.
Paul has worked at Benwells since 1997 and, as the saying goes, he liked it so much he bought the company. Having done stints throughout the business in production, estimating and sales, there is little he doesn’t know about what we do and how we do it.
Outside of work Paul has been known to disappear all weekend down on his allotment, or following the fortunes of his beloved West Ham.
Jo HaslamMarketing Director
Frankly, Jo does anything that Paul doesn't want to do, including HR, Health and Safety, and marketing – and if you have told Ben you will pay and haven't then she’ll be on the phone to you as well. Luckily, Jo is a woman who can turn her hand to anything.
When not at Benwells she’s working as an animal healer, or you’ll find her competing her horse at British Eventing or riding with her two daughters, followed by their three dogs.
Colin HowardProduction Manager
Colin has worked in the print industry for most of his adult life. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge, but also a calm head. When he’s not slaving away in the production office, Colin finds solace at Charlton Athletic.
Joanne BarnettAccount Manager
Joanne has worked in the print industry for over 15 years. Starting as a hand finisher and now a highly talented account manager, her depth of skills and knowledge is unsurpassed. Away from the office Jo likes to spend her hard-earned cash in the West End and exercise her green fingers in the garden.
Danielle joined Benwells in 2010, and has thrown herself into learning the specialist printing trade from scratch. She likes to spend her spare time with family and friends, including her beloved dog Bella.
Ben MavelyFinance Manager
Ben has worked in finance for 12 years, and has been looking after the pounds at Benwells since 2009. He now takes a hand in quoting and estimating for our clients, and if you ever come in to see us on site you’ll quickly realise that he’s definitely the office joker.
